The Northumberland Federation is running a competition for WIs to make a scarecrow that will make people smile.

The competition is being held at The Heighley Gate Garden Centre during October half term.

The scarecrow can be any size up to 6' in height and depict any character, real or fictional. It also needs to have a name.

Scarecrows must be delivered to Heighley Gate between 9am and 3pm on Thursday 23rd October. They will be on display until Sunday 2nd November and should be collected on Monday 9th November.

Judging will take place on Thursday 23rd October after 3pm.

The entry fee is £5 and the closing date is Tuesday 14th October.

We'd love to hear your creative ideas for a possible Whey Aye entry!
