One of our summer activities was a visit to Loch Fyne restaurant in Gosforth. Whey Aye President, Allison Underwood, shares her thoughts here:

"I arranged a fish filleting session at a local fish restaurant on Gosforth High Street at the beginning of September when most members had returned from their well earned summer holidays. I chose this restaurant as Loch Fyne is a well renowned fish restaurant chain as well as being a local fresh fish supplier. It is also one of my favourite places to eat. The restaurant itself is set in a refurbished church with many attractive features that lend themselves to an all round pleasant eating experience. The manager, as always, was only too happy to help us out and arranged our fish filleting demonstration with the in-house expert which was enjoyed by all. As well as demonstrating fish filleting techniques we were also provided with samples of various types of freshly cooked fish for tasting (all free of charge!) which was enjoyed by all. This was followed by a very agreeable lunch and a couple of glasses of rather lovely wine...
Thank you very much Loch Fyne - we will be back soon!"
