Whey Aye WI wishes to celebrate the Centenary of the WI (in 2015) and our own 10th birthday (in 2016) by awarding a bursary to one of our members. Jolly Scarecrow competition

The Northumberland Federation is running a competition for WIs to make a scarecrow that will make people smile.

The competition is being held at The Heighley Gate Garden Centre during October half term.

The scarecrow can be any size up to 6' in height and depict any character, real or fictional. It also needs to have a name.

Scarecrows must be delivered to Heighley Gate between 9am and 3pm on Thursday 23rd October. They will be on display until Sunday 2nd November and should be collected on Mond...

Epic Awards 2013

I know that many of you WI ladies are also involved in amateur arts and crafts groups, so you may like to enter the Epic Awards.

They are free to enter and give groups an excellent opportunity to raise their profile, as well as the chance to win a range of prizes including cash, training, equipment and publicity. The winners will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to a prestigious reception in UK City of Culture 2013, Derry~Londonderry to receive their award.
